Memory Foam Matress

Memory Foam Matress That Lasts For Super Comfort

Sleeping on a memory foam matress has become extremely popular recently. Introduced to the world in the 1990s, memory foam was originally used by NASA to for the use of their astronauts. Brought into the consumer market, memory foam was first used as a matress foam topper before finding its current form as a mattress.

The unique promise of a memory foam matress is the way this material responds to temperature and its ability to spread pressure over a larger surface area. With this, many people have benefited from the reduction of pressure points that can cause discomfort during sleep.

In most cases, using a mattress made entirely of memory foam is not the best option. Since memory foam is very soft, it is best used combined with other materials to give you a firmer support while still enjoying the many benefits of this visco-elastic material.

With a memory foam mattress, you have a material that is able to conform to your body shape and areas that are heavier. This reduces the pressure points on those areas of your body and creates a more comfortable sleeping surface.

When you sleep on a memory foam matress, you get that "melting" feeling as it shapes itself to your body. This is due to the nature of memory foam being sensitive to temperature as well. In lower temperatures, memory foam tends to be harder and in higher temperatures it tends to become softer. This also helps your foam mattress to shape itself to your body better.

The thing is, not all memory foam mattresses are made equal. With different densities, and made by different manufacturers, you can expect that some brands tend to be of higher quality than others. When you are buying a mattress as opposed to a topper, you definitely need memory foam that is both durable and comfortable. To replace a mattress would cost more than just replacing a topper alone, so the issue of durability is not as important compared to purchasing a mattress.

When you are buying an off-the-shelf memory foam mattress, check with the seller if their supplier does quality control on every batch that comes in. With memory foam of different qualities being manufactured, you want to make sure you get a good memory foam matress and not one that is defective.

If you want to avoid all this, go with the big brand names like Tempurpedic who have a vested interest in only selling the best quality memory foam mattress. Otherwise, make sure you do ask your seller what the return policy is on the house brand foam mattresses.
